Marriage Refresh

The key to a good marriage is often summed up in one word: communication. Speaking clearly and listening carefully are important, of course. However, to speak clearly about something, that thing has to be known. There are a lot of things we need to talk about that we don’t yet know, including our own emotions and desires—what we truly feel and want. And there are others, including expectations, disappointments, resentments, regrets, and fears.

Discovering and communicating about these things takes time. Every couple has a unique process that can be developed through experience. Marriage Refresh Small Group will look at concepts of discovering, speaking, and listening, and make space for couples to practice together.

Meets on Sundays at 9:00am in room 201 of the Ankeny building. There are limited slots available. Starts Sunday, April 28th. RSVP right here.

Who Thought Up the Christian Religion?

Jesus was born a Jew and died a Jew. Why do his followers belong to a different religion? Or if Jesus “freed us from the law” why do we even need a religion at all, or an organized church? Can’t we just follow Jesus?

We’ll discuss all this and more as we look at the beginnings of the church from the book of Acts.

This group meets on Tuesdays at 7:00pm for six weeks beginning April 30th. Please email leader for location.
