We’ll pick up our study of Hebrews at chapter 9 with the big picture of Christ’s sacrifice and redemption, and then move to the response of the church. The Hebrews congregation was becoming increasingly unpopular in its city, so the writer’s words, many of them uncomfortably strong, hit home. We do well to listen. Has the recent news left you interested to learn more about the current refugee crisis? Are you interested in learning what is happening in the arena in Portland and how you might be involved or better engaged in welcoming refugees to our community? You’re invited to join us in exploring this current issue as well as practical Christ centered ways to respond. We meet together to encourage and strengthen foster and adoptive families in their faith and commitment to serve vulnerable children. We provide dinner and a safe environment to share challenges and issues we face in the journey.
