Small groups provide opportunities to gather with other Imago Dei community members over the enjoyment of a common activity, a common stage of life or peer group or the pursuit of spiritual growth and wisdom.
While some of these groups are ongoing, many are classes with a set start and end date. New small groups are launched quarterly, and our next launch will be the week of April 23, 2017.
Interested in starting a small group? Email email@example.com.
Many Christians desire to live out a commitment to racial justice. But what if our understanding of racism is too thin, narrow or deficient for us to stand against it? Join us for an eight-week course to continue the conversation started during our Saving Justice sermon series. Sundays beginning February 26th at 9am in room 101. Register online at imagodei.webconnex.com/savingjustice.
There are some questions no Christian wants to be asked. Many today believe hell, judgment and holy war are “skeletons in God’s closet” – tough topics that, if looked at closely, would reveal a cruel, vindictive tyrant rather than a good and loving God. And we aren’t comfortable with the answers we’ve been given. In this class, we’ll pull these bones out into the open to exchange popular caricatures for the beauty and power of the real thing. We’ll discover these topics were never really skeletons at all but proclamations of a God who is good, not just in what he does, but in who He is. Wednesdays at 7:00pm in rm. 201. For more info, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Are you considering entering into foster care or adoption? Have questions? Concerns? In this class we will explore what fostering looks like and try to answer as many questions as possible. Within the Roman Empire, near the city of Ephesus, the apostle Paul sat in jail awaiting trial for the crime of integrating his churches. In the face of this ordeal he sent a letter, which we call Ephesians, to the surrounding churches, encouraging them to remain faithful, multi-cultural and united in Christ. This is a deeply spiritual letter. Yet, it is also part of a much larger story of a vibrant new religious movement spreading all over the Roman Empire, cutting across normal cultural boundaries. Come learn this story and find your place in it as we dive into this letter. Sundays at 9:00am in Imago Dei rm. 203. For more info, contact RobbWS@gmail.com.

Dating can suck. Sometimes, so can being single. We’re going to walk through the minefield of modern relationships together, through the weirdness of church and culture, seeking to learn from each other and be transformed by Christ. We’ll address both the calling of singleness and the sacrament of marriage. We’ll practice the beauty and messiness of community while working towards healing. We’re going to seek understanding about gender roles and sex, geek out a bit on the science of the brain and explore the mystery of men and women. Sundays at 11:00am beginning February 12th in Imago Dei rm. 202. For more info, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
