Small groups provide opportunities to gather with other Imago Dei community members over the enjoyment of a common activity, a common stage of life or peer group or the pursuit of spiritual growth and wisdom.

Head/Heart is the monthly worship gathering of the Imago Dei Young Adults Community. When we read the words of Jesus, we get a glimpse of a kind of faith that’s deep, wide and much more beautiful. He always invites people to engage God wholeheartedly without checking their brains at the door – to know God, as well as experience Him. We sing, read, pray and listen together, following a traditional Evening Prayer (or Vespers) liturgy. Pray and Play is a regular and intentional North Portland community for elementary-age kids and their families to find encouragement and inspiration with fellow believers in their neighborhood. Weekly gatherings will include games, crafts, snacks, lessons from Scripture and a short guided prayer time. Dates, times, and locations vary.This is an ongoing group. Although originally created to be a meeting place for those of us at Imago beyond the magic age of 39, we welcome all, particularly those in transition. Whether you’re new to Imago, experiencing career change, divorce, retirement, “empty nesting”, or recently married, If you desire fellowship and a deeper connection, join us for the adventure. A place for those who love to rock climb or are interested in learning about climbing to connect with others in the Imago Dei community. Leaders and members are regularly found at local climbing gyms and outdoor crags, with an occasional organized trip to local climbing destinations. This is an ongoing group. Whether you’re a novice in the kitchen, or a Julia Child replica, join us as we learn to make the perfect pie crust and yummy pie, healthy and yet delicious meals, and other culinary treats. Every Monday morning, parents and kids gather at the East Portland Community Center Indoor Park from 10am-12pm for play and conversation. The Community Center charges $1.25 per child. Help English-language learners from Bhutan and Nepal practice their conversational skills. This can help ease their difficult transition into American culture.
