Entering into Belonging

We believe God is calling Imago Dei into something new, something deeper this fall.

Reflecting on nearly two decades of spiritual and community growth, our leadership has discerned an opportunity to delve into what we believe and what we practice, all with the purpose of becoming a family of faith that gives voice, life and witness to the beauty and grace of Jesus Christ here in Portland.

Our Sunday morning gatherings will be dedicated to exploring some key questions:

  • What does it mean to deeply belong to the people of God in this time and this place?
  • What does it mean to commit our lives to God and to one another for a common mission and purpose?
  • What do we believe? What have we believed as the people of God for the last 2,000 years?
  • What do we do with that belief? What are the practices that define us?

If you call Imago Dei your faith community, we ask you to not only join us on Sundays, but to dive in deeper through a home community  or an Entering into Belonging small group . In these groups, you’ll hear from pastors, elders and leaders throughout our community address specific aspects of what it means to be the people of God. You’ll also spend time discussing and discerning tangible ways to participate with others at Imago.
