Celebration Sunday: An All Imago Event
Sunday, July 28th | 10:00am-3:00pm
Imago Dei Sanctuary & Blue Lake Park
Let’s celebrate baptisms as one Imago Dei family!

Mark your calendars for a day of celebration that will bring Imago Dei Central City Campus and Eastside Gathering together in worship and fun.

Service – 10am in the Sanctuary at Central City

We’ll have one service for all Imago Dei (Central City & Eastside) at 10am in the Imago Dei Sanctuary (1400 SE Ankeny St), where the whole community, including kids, will come together to worship and celebrate baptisms. Childcare will be provided for ages 0-2 during the service.

Party in the Park – Noon at Blue Lake Regional Park

After the service, everyone is invited over to Blue Lake Regional Park for a huge party with a potluck picnic, games, some music and more.

Baptism Details:

If you have committed to following Jesus and would like to be baptized, Celebration Sunday is a great opportunity to do so! Sign up here.

Potluck Details:

A part of any fun celebration is a shared meal. We’re keeping it old school cookout style meaning hotdogs on the grill. We’ll provide the meat (yes, we’ll have vegetarian options too), condiments and paper products. Would you pitch in on the potluck side of things? Here’s what we’re thinking, based on the first letter of your last name, find which category we could use your help in.

  • A-F – Plant-based (fruit, veggies, salad)
  • G-K – Dessert
  • L-Q – Snacks
  • R*-Z – Side-dish

Please bring enough a serving size for about 5-7 people in a disposable/compostable container. If your dish is dairy free, gluten free, soy free, any of those, please mark it so others can enjoy it. We will have serving spoons and tongs on hand so you can leave yours at home.

*Our original announcement of potluck instructions failed to assign a dish to people whose last name begins with the letter “R.” Thus, R names are welcome to bring any food item they wish to the potluck.

Car Pooling Information:

We recognize that Blue Lake is not close to everyone and that for those using bikes or public transit the commute is a big factor of whether or not you can join in. We’ve set up a carpooling option for this very reason. If you’d like to carpool or you’ve got a few spare seats to bring someone with you, go ahead and sign up here.

There is a cost of $5 for parking at the park. We don’t want this cost to be prohibitive to you coming. Please let us know by shooting Abby an email or giving our office a call.

Only service animals are allowed at the park.
