Triads

“Listening is much more than allowing another to talk while waiting for a chance to respond. Listening is paying full attention to others and welcoming them into our very beings. The beauty of listening is that, those who are listened to start feeling accepted, start taking their words more seriously and discovering their own true selves. Listening is a form of spiritual hospitality by which you invite strangers to become friends, to get to know their inner selves more fully, and even to dare to be silent with you.”

― Henri J.M. Nouwen

Imago Triads are a form of group spiritual direction. Spiritual Direction could be defined as a relationship where people come together to listen and seek God’s guidance focusing on one of their lives.

It is 3 people coming together seeking to notice where God is present and active in our lives. This allows us to discern God’s leading and respond from a place of freedom and generosity.  We believe the Spirit is continually moving in us and speaks in order to encourage, convict, bring hope and impart wisdom.  This model prompts us to slow down and attune to the work of the Spirit in our lives and care for one another in a life-giving way.

As a church, we strive to live into the practice of hearing and obeying the Word and Spirit. We believe that Imago Triads are a communal way to practice holy listening, dependant trust, and obedient faith. They also provide an opportunity to create consistent connections and develop spiritual friendships.

Triads allow for all three people to have a dedicated time to share anything they want while the group listens attentively, asks questions that help you reflect on your relationship with God, and together discern the direction of God.

Triads will begin in the spring semester.
