Why do we serve?

At Imago Dei, we believe every person is made in the image of God (the imago dei!) As image-bearers, each of us has been uniquely created with gifts, passions, and abilities that reflect something of God's character and His Kingdom.

As we follow Jesus together, we believe being part of the Church means more than simply attending on Sundays, it means participating in the life and mission of God's people. The Apostle Paul describes the Church as one body with many members, each entrusted with different gifts that work together for the flourishing of the whole.

Serving isn't simply about filling a need or completing a task. It is one of the ways God forms us into the likeness of Christ. As we offer our gifts in service to others, we grow in humility, discover purpose, build meaningful relationships, and participate in the work God is already doing in our church, our city, and the world.

  • Create spaces where people experience the welcome, presence, and love of Jesus every Sunday during our two services.

    • Hospitality: prepare communion, serve coffee, greet guests, and more

    • Worship: create space for people to encounter and respond to Jesus through music and the arts

    • Production: work behind the scenes to make sure worship service runs smoothly

    • Prayer: provide prayer for our church family

    • Safety: create a safe and comfortable environment on Sundays in our sanctuary

  • At Imago Dei we want to develop caring and supportive community. Two ways you can engage in community:

    • Care Team: Support members of our church family during seasons of illness, transition, grief, or need through meals, encouragement, and practical assistance

    • Community Group Leadership: Serve as a Community Group leader, helping create environments where people are known, cared for, and growing in Christ through shared life
