Newcomers & Refugees

“When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.”

Leviticus 19:34

Imago is committed to coming alongside those that are new to the Portland area through the immigrant and refugee experience. We invite our community to welcome with tangible action as we learn with and share with newcomers in our city.

For any questions or contacts, feel free to email seth@idcpdx.com for more info.

  • Birthed out of the heart of one of Imago’s very own and through the generosity of Imago in giving toward missional grants, we proudly support the work happening at Jubilee Hall to employ and share life with immigrants now calling Portland home. You can give, volunteer, and dream with the Jubilee team by checking out their website.

  • We are very grateful to be hosting a weekly resource fair for refugees in our building, run by Multnomah County! We are so excited to open up our building in this way. If you would like more information, email elise@idcpdx.com.

  • We are working on becoming a site for Administer Justice, which would allow us to provide legal assistance for our neighbors in need. We’ll need volunteer support to make this happen. If you’re interested in getting involved, email seth@idcpdx.com.

  • PACIFIC REFUGEE SUPPORT GROUP (formerly Portland Refugee Support Group) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit focused on re-empowering refugees, asylum seekers, and new community members through a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and human-centered approach.

Imago Dei’s relationship started with Multnomah County but has transitioned to work directly with PRSG so that the work can keep happening despite budget cuts.
